Bugs Bunny

pernalonga

Hello, hello my dear cute ones! Is everything alright?

Well, I always defended the idea that literal translation is not something really good, even because when you translate you have to be careful and pay attention to the heart of the message.

Saying so, I totally am in favor of interpretation! In my personal opinion it is much better!

Today in our chatlesson we have an expression from the cartoon Bugs Bunny.

The expression is:

Kick the Bucket

Do you have any idea of what is the meaning of it?

well, well, well my dear friend…

kickKick is when you hit something or someone with your foot.

bucketBucket is this object which you use to collect things.

But what the heck tis expression means?

Kick the bucket = To die/ pass away

tv

Pay attention to one episode of Bugs Bunny where in the context they use this expression.

Thank you so much for your attention!

I hope to see you soon!
